1 John 4:7 CSB
“Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.”
He Chose Us
Ephesians 1:4-5 NIV
“For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure.”
When God says that he chose us and that we are adopted as his children, how does that change our lives? Have you ever felt alone or orphaned?
When we talk about love, it often is described in the form of loss, rejection or searching and not finding it. What areas in your life have you faced like this?
God says come as you are but you won’t leave the same. What difficult things has God asked you to bring to him that ended up working for Good?
Knowing God Through Love

God is the very essence of love and you can’t experience love apart from God. Has there been a situation in your life where God had to work to give you the love you needed for someone?
What can we learn about the nature of Love by viewing the biblical story, from the fall to Christ's resurrection?

Living a Life of Love
1 corinthians 13:4-7 NIV
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
What is your definition of love and how does that change In light of 1 Corinthians 13?
How can we be empowered to live a life full of this kind of Love?
It’s easy to feel loving towards someone when they’re nice to us or when we’re having a good day, but often life is not like that and we can find ourselves in valleys. How can we live from a place of love when we don’t feel it?
What will happen if we don’t live from Love? Name actions, examples.
